Open Access

Open Access Week

What is Open Access?

Open Access is the online, free availability of research output without the severe restrictions on use commonly imposed by publisher copyright agreements. Open Access provides the means to maximise the visibility, and thus the uptake and use, of research output. It has direct and widespread implications for academia, medicine, science, industry, and for society as a whole and especially also for our partners in the developing world.

How to publish in Open Access?

There are two ways to publish in Open Access:

  1. You can publish in one of the growing amount of Open Access journals.
  2. You can deposit your publications in the Open Access repository of the UT.
