Abstract:Highly Yb-doped, lattice-matched layers of potassium double tungstates with different compositions were grown on undoped KY(WO4)2 substrates. Structural and optical investigations confirmed their high quality. Applications are in high-gain amplifiers and thin-disk lasers.
