| Abstract: | Abstract—While several role-related concepts play an
important role in business modeling, their definitions, relations, and use differ greatly between languages, papers, and reports. Due to this, the knowledge captured by models is not transferred correctly, and models are incomparable. In this paper, we provide a meta-model and definitions for several role-related concepts based on the practice of existing modeling languages and ontological analysis. This forms a basis for creating comparable, formal business models, which enable further enterprise engineering, in a repeatable way |
