| Abstract: | Although a causal bond graph model generates a set of model equations that is well-suited for numerical simulation, it may occur that these equations contain time derivatives of the input signals stemming from the sources. Herein, it will be demonstrated that straightforward symbolic manipulation result in an alternative set of state equations in which these time derivatives have been eliminated, which is beneficial in case of non-differentiable inputs like pulses or steps. The result is not constrained to models that are generated by bond graphs, but applies to a wide class of dynamic models. |
