| Abstract: | In The Netherlands nearly 20% of the domestic green house gas emissions are due to the use of energy in housing. In order to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions The Netherlands adopted a policy strategy aimed at economic sectors, including the built environment. Besides policy measures that stimulate energy conservation in houses, other measures were implemented that stimulate the use of innovative techniques concerning renewable energy and energy efficiency (IES). The appliance of these innovative techniques is of special importance to the national government’s long term policy goal concerning the transition to a low carbon society. |
