| Abstract: | Volatile organic hydrocarbons in ground water, surface water or waste water are a continuous threat to the public health. Often traditional purification techniques cannot be applied to remove these components from aqueous solutions. In this thesis the technical and economic feasibility of pervaporation, a rapidly developing membrane filtration technique, will be investigated for the removal of trace organics from water. |
