| Abstract: | The transferability of Japanese management systems (JMSs) abroad has been studied intensively since the 1980s. However, the conclusions regarding this study field are mixed. Such confusion is caused by the vague definition of terms and the different methods employed by researchers to measure the transferability of the management systems abroad. This paper proposes a new conceptual model based on the perspectives of contingency and hybridization theory, with the aim of understanding the transfer process and the factors influencing this process. |
