| Abstract: | A multi-scale modelling approach is proposed as a means of eventually overcoming the limitations of the multigrain and polymer flow models of particle growth. It is demonstrated that there is a need to introduce some sort of macroheterogeneity into the evolution of the stress build-up in the growing macroparticles in order to see a local rupture of the particle structure. Different simulations are proposed and qualitatively compared to previously published experimental results in order to validate the approach. |
