| Abstract: | Spectroscopic and numerical investigations show that energy-transfer upconversion can efficiently recycle energy in 3-µm Er:ZBLAN fiber lasers at relatively low dopant concentrations, thereby dramatically increasing the slope efficiency compared to lifetime quenching by Pr3+. |
