Abstract:A variety of catalyst systems based on 3d transition metals, i.e., V(III), Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and various stabilizing ligands, i.e., propadiene, methylacetylene, phenylacetylene, and 1,4-butadiene, were prepared. The activity of these catalytic systems towards the polymerization of a series of monomers (propadiene, methylacetylene, phenylacetylene, 1,4-butadiene, ethene, and propene) is investigated. Optimum conditions for the preparation of 1,2-polyallene, polymethylacetylene and polyphenylacetylene are given.
