Abstract:GABA in one of the major neurotransmitters in the adult brain, expressed in 25% of the interneurons. It is responsible for the fast synaptic transmission at most CNS synapses together with the other two amino acid transmitters - Glutamate and Glycine. We undertook our study to investigate the levels of GABA in dissociated cortical neurons at various ages in culture: from one day to three weeks.
