| Abstract: | In this paper we compare the behaviour of the LQR solution for a finite platoon model with its infinite version. We give examples where these are similar and some where they are quite different. For the scalar case we obtain sufficient conditions for the LQR solutions to be similar by relating the Toeplitz approximations to circulant approximating systems. |
