Abstract:	A simplified analytical treatment is given for the determination of the orientation of a face centered cubic crystal from non-parallel ${111}$ twin intersections on a surface of the crystal. If only three non-parallel ${111}$ twin intersections are known, then there are two, three or four possibilities for the orientation of the crystal, depending on the mutual angles between the twin intersections. If a fourth ${111}$ twin intersection is also known, the orientation of the crystal can be determined unambiguously.
