Abstract:	Inkjet printing is an important technology in color document production [133]. The rapid development of inkjet technology started off around the late fifties. Since then, many inkjet devices have seen the light of day. In this overview, the attention is mainly restricted to the development towards the most important inkjet concepts of today, namely continuous, piezoelectric, and thermal inkjet.
