| Abstract: | A general method is given to predict write field rise time effects on isolated pulses in digital magnetic recording. The method is based on the use of a graph, which can be calculated once and for all, from which the position and the form of a transition, written under several conditions, can be derived. Emphasis is laid on pulse shift effects, and it is shown that the results obtained give good estimates, in spite of the approximations used. |
