| Abstract: | A multimode fiber-matched arrayed waveguide grating-based demultiplexer has been demonstrated. In this design, multimode waveguides have been used as array elements. The device, which can be used in short-distance communications, has been realized using low-cost polymer planar waveguide technology. Three wavelength channels were successfully separated. The average fiber-to-fiber insertion loss was 14 dB and the worst-case cross talk was < -12.5 dB. |
