| Abstract: | This PhD research is among those attempts to strive for a silicon light source though the target is rather in sensor and actuator applications than optical communications. It deals with the development of a novel device, the nanometer-scale silicon light emitting diode antifuse. The objectives set out for the research were to investigate the device properties and the possible applications as an optical sensing and/or actuating element, especially in Micro Total Analysis (µTAS) or lab on a chip. |
